Why it matters
What young people get
Newham is one of London's most diverse boroughs but also one of its most deprived. Young people here face real pressures: limited safe spaces after school and the pull of negative influences. Youth Active runs free sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings in Stratford, covering football, dodgeball, arts and crafts, coding and outdoor sports. Every session is run by qualified youth workers who genuinely care about the young people who show up.
What consistent support looks like
We do not run one-off events. Our young people come back week after week because they feel seen and valued. Over time that consistency builds trust, and trust builds real change. Whether it is a young person completing their first CV, a parent feeling reassured about their child's safety, or a volunteer discovering a passion for mentoring, every step forward counts.
